This is post number 99.
Ninety-nine is a good number. I like it.
This was going to just be a short note about the condition of the poll and whatnot, but I'll have to extend it into something more substantial or else it'd be a waste of my 99th-post-y-ness.
But first things first:
The name "Robots Bleed Petroleum" won by one vote, but I should point out now that that was never going to be the final, definitive poll anyway (besides, it's up to me in the end anyhow). As time went on I thought more and more that it would make a better name for a metal band or something than a blog.
But I can't ignore the voice of the public, so I've stuck it up there, along with the highest (on my list, I mean) three that actually got a vote (note that I excluded "We're up at 3am toasting Pop-Tarts" because I think I will be putting that in the description below the title no matter what).
Another quick note: I surpassed 1000 hits on my little counter there.
I'm not sure how many of those were me checking up on my polls and comments, however. Probably a good number of them....
Alright, enough of all that.
Time to complain.
Teenagers drive me crazy.
I'm almost certainly not talking about you, though, so don't worry... I mean that I hate what seems to be the overwhelming majority of teenagers (my school could just be an awful place, but I really doubt it, because people I encounter elsewhere are like this, too). The stereotypical ones, you know (and my, do they live up to the stereotypes). My friends mostly don't fit into this category. Because if they did, well, they would be awful, awful friends. Not at all the sort I would want.
It's kind of sad how little I relate to my own generation. But wow. I'm sorry, people, but you deserve every shell of flak fired in your direction.
They call you arrogant. It's because you are.
They call you rude. It's because you are.
They say you have no concern for anyone other than yourself. It's because you don't.
They say you have no respect for anyone who has authority over you. And it's because you don't.
And I don't know what you think about that, but those are all really bad things.
If you want to get respect, you'd better be prepared to give it. And you should treat everyone kindly, even if you have no interest in them treating you kindly in return. Because people are watching you all the time. And you will get no respect, none at all, if you treat even one person unkindly.
And now we will move on to how foul-mouthed you all are.
Allow me to give an example from a conversation I overheard today. It went something like this:
"%&*##$@?"I hear conversations like this every day. Why don't I like it? Well, I've shared my opinions here before, but I'll do it again.
"@%&#%!"
"$*$%&."
1. It's just spiteful. 90% (or more) of the time I hear people use what is considered to be "bad language", they're using it because they're angry or they want to insult someone. It's almost always with a hateful tone. Note what I said earlier about earning respect.
2. It offends people. More people than you would think, and there's nothing you can do about it. Why would you go out of your way to offend someone? Again, you're not going to be appreciated at all if you do stuff like that.
3. You're butchering the English language, just butchering it. Believe it or not, this is possibly the biggest reason for me.
You start swearing and cursing, and soon you're doing it all the time, every third word. Well, look at you now. What's your vocabulary like? It's small, and pathetic. Just like a politician's. (Yes, I did just go there.)
And once again, you lose respect. Because you sound dumb. Sorry, but you just do. You sound like you have nothing better to say, because if you did, one would think you'd be saying it.
So do yourself (and everyone else) a favor, and just drop it completely. I promise you that once you get out into the real world, you'll thank me. And you will never for one minute regret it.
Oh, by the way, did I mention that the popular insult at my school these days appears to be "Jew"? It's absolutely true. On quite a few occasions I have heard people use the word "Jew" to describe someone who did something they didn't like. It's always in a jocular manner and seems to be just a silly thing people say to their friends.
But it's not in any way funny. Because racism is not something we joke about.
Ever, ever, period.
I don't think my normal audience needs to hear what I had to say today. But if you read this and felt guilty, I'm not sorry.
Change. Like I said, you'll thank me some day.
(Conversely, if you read this and didn't feel guilty at all, well, hey. I'm just making my opinion known. Think what you want.)

2nd..i didn't know you went to schooll...hows that...? aside from teh *$#@(&!(* morons.....
Oh, well, see.
I call it "my school", but that's a bit of a joke*, because I'm only there for two periods. First period I either practice my clarinet in one of the practice rooms in the music hallway or hang out in the library doodling things in my notebook.
Second period I have band rehearsal. Then I go home.
*Not as in "Haha, that's funny"; more like "Pffssht, right."
Oh, and a lot of the time I eat breakfast there, too, because it's free (for me, anyway).
I wouldn't say calling someone a "Jew" as an insult is racism. You could be white, black, or any other... race and be a Jew. I would call it discrimination.
Well, it could be religious discrimination but it could also be racial discrimination.
Because, within context (the times it has been elaborated upon, that is, rather than just used on its own), sometimes it seems like they mean the religion and other times it seems like they mean the race.
But what does it matter?
Either way, it's not something anyone should make jokes about.
