I'm posting?!

Yep, I'm back.
Basically because of E3. There are a lot of things I could be talking about but none of it was enough to drag me back until now.
Does this mean I'll be posting more regularly in the future? It could. Or you might not hear from me again for months.

Now, firstly, some general life-related updates:
I'm trying to find a job. And that's... what I'm doing right now. I've applied at a few places, but nothing is going anywhere very fast. At least I'm no longer apprehensive about getting one. I guess I need one, so... I'll get one. I'm OK with having less free time now; more on this later.
Meanwhile, I'm now officially prepared for college -- psychologically speaking, I mean. I was really worried about not being able to really get anything of my own done due to being busy with more important things (for whatever reason I've just been expecting the workload to be pretty heavy). I still think that might be the case, but I'm not worried about it anymore. Like I was saying just a moment ago, I'll talk about this more later on in the post.
As far as being actually prepared for college and having everything I'll need... Well, I'm not even close. Mostly because the school I'm going to hasn't sent a whole lot lately. I mean, won't I need books at some point? But they haven't told me what they are. And they haven't given me my handbook yet. And I'm pretty sure a payment is due soon but I don't exactly remember, and they haven't said anything recently. I don't know, I'm probably just rushing things. But it is only two months away...

Next, a few miscellaneous things of interest:
There were some garage sales around here the last few days. Most of it was uninteresting, but Seth did find quite a bit of HeroScape stuff for eight bucks. That was a great deal, really; it's a pretty expensive game... It has rather detailed figures I assume to be hand-painted, and the board is comprised of many interlocking plastic hexagons (rather than one piece of cheap cardboard), so it's probably somewhat costly to manufacture.
Also, we just picked up the third Pirates of the Caribbean movie at the library, we should be watching it... actually I don't know why we haven't started it yet.
I have to admit that I may be sincerely disappointed if it makes even a speck of sense.

Now, E3!
I was a little bit surprised with Nintendo's announcements, which weren't nearly as lame as I thought they would be. They announced a New Super Mario Bros. for the Wii that offers a multiplayer mode. It looks pretty cool. Plus, Golden Sun DS!!
The new Metroid kinda looks interesting. Team Ninja is working on it, though, which is somewhat odd; they may be taking it way over the top.
Other people's announcements didn't really interest me for the most part. For instance, Final Fantasy XIV was announced... and they haven't even released XIII yet. Quirky. I think Square-Enix is declining a bit, just like everyone else these days. I'm still watching them, though; after all, they are still doing some pretty killer stuff.
Speaking of commercial games, though: I haven't been able to follow them lately because... Well, I don't feel like explaining the whole thing. To summarize: Our network blocks a lot of stuff. It won't let us unblock more than 30 things. Yes, it's dumb.
Anyway, I just looked at a couple things after months of being almost completely unaware of what was going on, and some things have looked interesting to me... I'm not sure I want to be reasearching too many of them, because I can't afford to be buying every cool game that comes out.
Phantasy Star Ø looks great, though; the online looks way better than anything I've seen so far in a DS game... In addition, I'm still looking forward to Scribblenauts, of course.

Lastly... Well, I was going to detail some stuff about my current projects, but I've spent enough time on this as it is. That will have to wait until a future post. (Tomorrow? Next week? Next Month? Next year?)
In short, I've finished stuff and shelved other stuff, and right now my biggest project is something with an end that looks impossibly far away -- and I'm OK with that. I'm just going to keep working on it, slowly, over time... I decided that I've been focused way too much on getting stuff done. Some of my heroes (like Daisuke Amaya) inspire and impress me because of their dedication, not their ability to work quickly. Making Cave Story was a long, gradual process. As far as I can tell, he never focused too much on it or forced himself to work hard; he just put a little bit more time and care into it whenever he got the chance.
So in the fall I'm going to get adjusted to life at school, and see what happens from there. Maybe I'll have more free time than I expected. Maybe I won't.
But I've been rushing things way too much lately. The whole point of this next year was supposed to be stepping back and looking at my life to see where it's headed next... I can't do that if I'm frantically trying to finish as many projects as possible -- I don't even know which ones are related to my eventual career, because I don't know what that is yet!
I might talk more about this later, like I said.
